Sensory Balloons

I love the dollar store! I found a million great new therapy ideas there today. My first one...Sensory Balloons.

What are they?
Bright color balloons (make sure they are latex free if you have kids with allergies) filled with all different fillings (rice, beans, sand, popcorn seeds, hair gel, decorative marbles, you get the idea). Make two of each type.

What is the purpose?
These silly balloons work on tactile sensory processing and stereognosis.

How to use them?
How ever you want! Or have the kids try and match up pairs (rice with rice, sand with sand). They can also match balloons with pictures of the fillings.
